CEA applauds measures to protect vital cyber systems

OTTAWA, Ontario - - The Canadian Electricity Association CEA applauds the GovernmentÂ’s intention to enhance funding and introduce legislation to heighten the protection of vital cyber systems, as announced recently in the federal budget.

“Today’s announcement of new measures to protect vital cyber systems is encouraging,” said the Hon. Sergio Marchi, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Electricity Association. “As one of Canada’s ten Critical Infrastructure sectors, CEA members are operators of vital cyber systems and work closely with the Government of Canada to protect physical and cyber assets essential to Canada’s security. We look forward to contributing to the development of any new legislation and to learning more about the details of these proposals.”
