Senior Substation Estimator

EPTCON is recruiting for a Senior Substation Estimator to join its team in Aurora, Ontario. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will work closely with EPTCON’s team delivering high voltage electrical contracting services. EPTCON will consider qualified candidates from across Canada for this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate detailed and economical material and labor cost estimates for review by the Estimating Manager;
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to support estimates;
• Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation to support estimate preparation and review;
• Coordinate with management and review estimates and create proposals;
• Assist in tendering procedures and review of contracts;
• Prepare turnover packages to Construction management;
• Assist in the successful growth of EPTCON through accurate and complete project estimations.

Education and Experience

• A background in electrical or civil estimating with related experience in power line/substation construction or similar;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Proficiency with spreadsheets together with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
• Experience interpreting design drawings;
• Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent in a related discipline would be considered an asset;
• A strong network of suppliers and subcontractors with whom you will develop and maintain professional business relationships;
• A reputation as a capable and friendly worker with a great attitude and interest in growing our business;
• The ability to travel for work up to 10% of your time, and a current and valid Driver’s license.
