Power Plant employees go a decade without injury

DALLAS, TEXAS - Employees at Luminant’s Lake Hubbard Power Plant kept safety top of mind for 3,650 straight days and set a new company safety record – 10 years without an OSHA-recordable injury.

“A decade without a single recordable injury is a major achievement and one that clearly illustrates our employees’ personal accountability when it comes to safety,” said Scott Diermann, director of gas plant operations. “We are extremely proud of this milestone and look forward to celebrating many more.”

The current record began August 15, 1999 and equates to roughly 740,000 safe work hours without a single on-the-job injury requiring medical attention – this includes treatment as minor as stitches or prescription medication. Luminant’s Lake Hubbard employees participate in a variety of safety programs including peer observations and daily pre-job safety discussions to ensure each employee begins the workday with safe operations as a primary focus.
