Aspect Development, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASDV) the global leader in collaborative solutions for business-to-business (B2B) eCommerce and inbound supply management today announced that Hydro-Quebec has selected Aspect's next generation B2B e-commerce solution for plant operations to automate the company's stray's $300M annual spend on Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) items. Aspect eOperate will be an integral part of Hydro-Quebec's operational systems, tightly integrating with SAP R/3 to give full visibility to stocked and non-stocked inventory.

"Hydro-Quebec is already committed to the best practice of strategic sourcing," said Antonio Pinho, general manager of Procurement and Services at Hydro-Quebec. "Now with Aspect we can expand the practice to leverage new e-commerce systems which will automate the process of MRO procurement and boost productivity to gain an even greater monetary return for the company. We expect a significant return on our investment within a year of deployment."

"Aspect initiatives at other leading Process and Services Industry companies have reduced operating expenditures by as much as 10-15%, which has a significant impact on pre-tax profit margins, and a 5-10% reduction in MRO inventory, which frees up cash," said Bob Evans, Aspect president and COO. "And Aspect solutions can typically be deployed in under 200 days, so the substantial savings hit the bottom line in the first year."
