GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs skilled electrical work in the repair, maintenance, alteration, and construction of facilities; installs, repairs, services and maintains electrical systems and equipment. Work with blueprints to figure out how the systems work. Troubleshoot electrical problems and come up with solutions. A journeyman electrician must have a deep familiarity with various types of electrical systems, fixtures, and components. They need to be able to repair electrical devices with a variety of tools and techniques. Their work also requires them to follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) safety requirements and to safely use ladders, scaffolding, and platforms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):
Ø Safety/Culture
· Continuously maintains Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
· Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
·
Functions as part of the Facilities team that is responsible for almost all aspects of our facility.
· Troubleshoots and repairs faulty equipment or systems.
· Connects power to equipment.
· Maintains lighting and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems.
· Services and repairs offsite wastewater electrical equipment.
· Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs conduit.
· Performs preventative maintenance as required.
· Other tasks as assigned.
Ø New Construction
· Installs new control and distribution equipment.
· Installs electric control panels for new offsite installations.
· Installs the electrical systems in Orenco prewired products.
Ø Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional overtime may be required.
Ø Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
Ø Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Must also have a valid Oregon Electrical Journeyman's license.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Ø Experience in the electrical trade, working in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
Ø A thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code as well as the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code.
Ø Completion of initial eight hour Emergency Response & HW (HazWopper) Operations level training is required. Completion of the annual eight hour HazWopper-Operations Level training is required thereafter. Training description: Emergency communication, alarms and evacuation routes, contingency plan implementation/emergency response procedures, emergency equipment use and inspection, incident response (fire, explosion, soil and water contamination), and site shut down procedures. Hazardous waste management - handling and storage rules.
Ø Must have good overall construction knowledge.
Ø Basic mathematics with algebra.
Ø Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Ø Knowledge of all safety regulations pertinent to this position.
Ø Trained in and follows ALL Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
Ø The ability to design, wire, and troubleshoot electrical motor control and automation circuits.
Ø Familiarity with all recognized wiring methods and the ability to install them properly.
Ø The ability to install electrical systems for new construction.
Ø Must be committed to quality, reliability, and safety in all electrical matters.
Ø Ability to use sound judgement and follow-through in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
Ø Must have satisfactory driving record, maintain valid driver’s license, and current insurance on personal vehicle if used for business. Must meet company insurability requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor/outdoor production environments involving some limited exposure to chemicals, paints, and solvent fumes that are generated during the distribution and curing processes. Work in energized panels and equipment, following all safety procedures, is occasionally required. Personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, face shields, dust masks, fall protection, and hearing protection is periodically required. Respirators are available, and may be worn, if medical certification and fit training are completed.
