Electrical Design Engineer - Medium Voltage Dry Type Transformers

We are a rapidly growing manufacturer dry-type electrical transformers looking for an exceptional medium voltage electrical design engineer to work as part of our design team. Product line expansion into the medium voltage class has made this position available. Proven abilities in driving projects from concept through implementation are required.

The ideal candidate possesses the following credentials and has demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         5 to 10 years hands-on product design experience

·         product design experience in three phase medium voltage transformers; 5kV class,  15kV class and 25kV class.

·         experience in the design of both layer and disc wound dry type transformers.

·         possesses a minimum BSEE degree or equivalent.

·         solid understanding of engineering documentation to support a manufacturing environment.

·         experience in running OPS design software as well as a working knowledge of visual basic or similar programming, Excel and Word.

·         must have excellent communication skills and be a proven team player.

·         understanding of designing for manufacturability and lowest cost achievement.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         mechanical design pertaining to transformers with the ability to utilize Autocad or Solid Works

·         600V class design experience a plus

This position can be carried out from a home office in the US or Canada. Customer contact and minimal travel is required.
