There are two ways to paint and protect transformer radiators against corrosion - the right way
and the wrong way.
The right way is by flow coating - total coverage of tube surfaces and edges, restricted surfaces, hidden areas, joints and crevices where corrosion originates and spray painting can't reach. Long term corrosion protection at minimum cost per year of service life.
The wrong way is by spray painting. Spray painting simply does not penetrate into critical areas. In fact, spray painting may only cover 50 to 75 per cent of the radiator surface area, so that it may only camouflage the corrosion damage, and not do what you set out to do - protect your transformers from the corrosion that could cause perforations and shutdowns.
Above all, you need a replacement paint system that will last as long as possible, so that you can forget about it for many years to come, and the cost per year of service life is minimized.
Flow coating is the only way of accomplishing this.
