Meltric’s Decontactor Series motor plugs are the world’s only CSA switch rated plugs and receptacles. They reduce downtime by allowing quick motor change-outs and they lower costs because there is no need to purchase interlocks and disconnects. Decontactors allow users to safely and routinely make and break electrical connections under full load up to 60hp.
When Decontactors are installed safety concerns associated with traditional pin & sleeve and twist type devices are eliminated. Decontactor Series plugs and receptacles feature:
Dead front construction,
Enclosed arc chambers,
Silver-nickel butt-style pressure contacts,
Short circuit make and withstand ratings >65kAIC
These features ensure safety by preventing access to live parts, by providing a superior electrical connection that does not deteriorate with wear or oxidation, and by allowing users to safely make and break connections- even during overload or locked rotor conditions.
