André Caillé, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro-Québec, was granted the rank of Chevalier (knight) of the National Order of the Legion of Honor at a ceremony in Paris.

This great accolade recognizes his contribution in developing and strengthening ties between France and Québec, particularly in the economic realm.

"I accept this distinguished recognition from the French nation with both pride and humility," Mr. Caillé said. Speaking of the natural affinity between France and Québec in the technical and human spheres, André Caillé added, "I take this opportunity to pay tribute to my predecessors at the helm of Hydro- Québec, because I reap the benefits they have sown over many decades."

Pierre Gadonneix, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Electricité de France (EDF), presented the insignia on behalf of the President of the French Republic. As a Chevalier of the French Legion of Honour, André Caillé joins a very select group of Quebecers who have received this prestigious distinction.
