Direct Energy recently announced that it now offers a partial renewable energy plan to Texas consumers. The Clean Texas Wind Plan is 50 percent renewable and is one of two new renewable energy plans Direct Energy is launching. Both plans offer renewable wind power to consumers as a way to support the use of alternative energy sources.

"Offering renewable plans demonstrates Direct Energy's commitment to meeting our customers' expectations," said Phil Tonge, president, Direct Energy Texas Operations. "The renewable plans are targeted at consumers who have an interest in the environment and wish to purchase environmentally friendly products at competitive prices."

Direct Energy's Clean Texas Wind Plan is offered at a two percent guaranteed savings off of the current Price-to-Beat rate, and is currently priced at 11.85 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) based on an average monthly usage of 1,000 kWh and a $5.34 monthly charge.

Direct Energy's Pure Texas Wind Plan is a 100 percent renewable and 99 percent pollution-free energy product, providing customers with the ability to fully support renewable energy sources at a competitive price. The Pure Texas Wind Plan is offered at a one-year fixed price for 12.64 cents per kWh based on an average monthly usage of 1,000 kWh and a $5 monthly charge.
