Electrical System Safety: Hazards and Safeguards

This course is designed to train all electrical staff on the proper safety procedures involved in the maintenance, inspection and utilization of the power distribution system. It is also designed to ensure that delegates are instructed to work within the guidelines of current safety regulations.

It will help employees and companies reduce the risk of personal injury and equipment damage due to operator error. The course is designed to ensure proper operations and maintenance safety guidelines are incorporated into your facility.


Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Now Offered

Engineering Institute of Canada Successful completion of this course qualifies delegates to receive a certificate of course completion with indicated CEUs. CEUs are granted by the Engineering Institute of Canada. One CEU is equivalent to 10 professional development hours of instruction.

    ABOUT THE COURSE LEADER

    Kerry Heid
    Magna Electric

    Kerry worked for Westinghouse Services Division, and was based in Regina from 1988 to 1996. During this period, Kerry provided fieldservices across Western Canada.

    In 1996, Kerry joined Magna IV (Saskatchewan) Ltd. to establish their Regina operations. In 2001, he became president of Magna Electric Corporation which was formed in affiliation with the Magna Group based in Edmonton, Alberta.

    Kerry's technical background has been strongly influenced from both maintenance and commissioning of high voltage systems. He holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from the Saskatchewan Technical Institute and is a NETA level IV certified technician.

    Registration Fees
    The registration fee to attend the Forum is $599.00 + 41.93 GST. Register and prepay 10 days prior to forum date and receive an early bird registration fee of $549.00 + 38.43 GST per delegate. Companies registering 3 delegates at the regular price ($599.00) will receive a 4th registration FREE.

    Cancellation and Refund Policy
    Registration fees are refundable only upon receipt of written notification 10 days prior to the conference date, less a 10 per cent service charge. Substitution of participants is permissible.
    The Canadian Electricity Forum reserves the right to cancel any conference it deems necessary and will, in such event, make a full refund of the registration fees.
