Our client is a major player serving the power industry. They have significant operations throughout the United States and provide infrastructure and services on a global basis, to the largest utilities throughout the world.
Position Description:
The Engineering Manager is a key member of a corporate risk controls team that will implement a risk based approach to the companies' activities. This Manager will utilize a dashboard to provide early warning signals concerning projects/contracts that are in trouble. He/she will "parachute in" to the project and ascertain the cause of the red flags. The successful candidate will work with the business to outline the appropriate course of action to ameliorate the issues.
The risk controls engineering manager will have excellent communication skills written and oral to influence operating management to ascertain causative issues and set forth a game plan. He/she will have relevant power industry project management experience to provide instant credibility and possess the requisite self confidence to be effective.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Power Industry Experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- 15-18 years experience in Engineering and Project Design.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and multiple project teams
- Knowledge of "slim" Six Sigma
- Proven abilities as a project management/controls leader, combining implementation with deliverable success that impacts the company's bottom line.
- Detail oriented, organized, proactive leader who possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, paired with keen analytical ability.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize effectively and quickly shift priorities in a dynamic environment
- Excellent Computer Skills
- Ability to travel on a regular basis
