MultiCAM Long-Wave Infrared & Daylight Corona Camera
The MultiCAM Corona & Infrared Detection Camera is the latest inspection system designed to assist you in detecting your voltage and current flow related reliability problems on high voltage equipment. This product, developed in partnership with Eskom, complements the CSIR CoroCAM family of daylight and low-light corona viewing systems and is a NEW ANALYSIS TOOL, this is not an upgrade but a new time-saving and "complete picture" of the insulator in question.

Infrared cameras detect the heat from mechanical connection problems when there is adequate (60% of rated load) current flow to raise temperature with minimal wind cooling. Infrared cameras can also detect the arcing damage area of an insulator
Daylight corona cameras, have a solar-blind ultraviolet image overlaid onto a visible image. The daylight corona camera can "see" the nitrogen in the air emit UV light when the electrical field intensity exceeds the corona threshold (as modified by RAD, see the Corona Technology Course DVD's for the explanation). This is far easier to "see" then the arcing damaged area by infrared.
The tremendous advantage of combining IR & UV into one camera is that the UV images can be overlaid on either the visible or infrared image as required with about 110mm "zoom" as the default position, thus a helicopter spacing to line can be increased versus the normal with infrared and the resolution with all of the cameras is much better. Continuous recording with the easy to switch in/out of each image type makes analysis, understanding and report explanation much easier.
Each camera is delivered, camera and corona training are provided, along with the included Corona Technology Course on DVD, a 2-day high voltage instruction course covering many HV applications.
So the MultiCAM is the complete package for those who will be scanning substations, flying transmission lines, and need the latest in technology to improve system reliability at least ownership cost.

Corona Technology Course DVD Set
Course Content:
Please see www.corona-technology-course.com for more information about the course, which has been presented live to over 100 attendees in the USA & Canada. The course is now available on DVD. Three DVD's of the course, a fourth DVD with the instruction manual and presentations from Corona Conferences.
This course is valuable to all who are looking at corona cameras for transmission, distribution or switchgear reliability programs, laboratory research on high voltage or intense electrical field.
The course is taught by James R Booker, PE who has tested high voltage equipment outdoors for 30 years and could instruct bare-hand line workers.

Each session is a presentation about the topic followed by Q & A participation.
