| ETAP Energy Management System (EMS) goes far beyond rudimentary data collection, logging, alarming, reporting, and simple analysis of energy usage and cost. This intelligent energy management system not only identifies but corrects system inefficiencies, reduces energy consumption, optimizes energy usage, improves the utilization of the electrical system performance, as well as optimizes energy usage and reduces its cost. |

2008 Brings New & Enhanced Features to EMS in ETAP 6.0
Energy Management Made Easier & More Accurate Than Any Other |
|
| |
| Automatic Generation Control |
| One of the core components of ETAP EMS is Automatic Generation Control (AGC), which uses real-time data such as frequency, actual generation, tie-line load flows, and plant units’ controller status to provide generation changes. It also calculates the parameters required to control the load frequency and provides the required data on demand to maintain frequency and power interchanges with neighboring systems at scheduled values. |
|
| |
| Economic Dispatch |
| Allocate changing generation demand of a power system among controllable generator units to achieve optimum area economy. |
|
| |
| Supervisory Control |
| Perform steady-state real-time optimization allowing energy consumers to automate the operation of their power system, reduce system losses and reduce peak load consumption. |
|
| |
| Interchange Scheduling |
| Manage electrical transaction schedules and dispatch trading that result from market activities related to the buying and selling of energy. |
|
| |
| Reserve Management |
| Continuously monitor system operating capacity and dynamically calculate the system generation versus load forecast balance to ensure protection against contingency losses |
